US Ambassador @ MPLFormer US Ambassador Francis Rooney will speak at the Muskogee Public Library. Mr. Rooney has an authored the book, "The Global Vatican". The book tells about the Catholic Church's role in world history, especially in the area of diplomacy. Francis Rooney served as U.S. Ambassador to the Holy See from 2005 through 2008, appointed by President George W. Bush. Rooney's book is part memoir, part historical. Raised in Muskogee, Rooney is chairman of Manhattan Construction Group, Tulsa.
